We had been wanting to launch a project of this kind for a long time, and after much hard work, we decided to use our brand as a tool to promote local craftsmanship in India. We’re going to tell you firsthand how our latest project, the most cherished of all, came about... Salva and I (Rosa writing) are two passionate people about India, and we’ve travelled to the country many times. Every time we go, we find new things, make friends, and create a family. Our connection goes back years because Francisco Pino (my father) travelled to India in the '90s always in search of new experiences. Since I travelled there for the first time, I came back in love with the country, its people, and the drastic cultural shift experienced there. It’s a journey that makes you reflect and realise how privileged you are.

India

On our first trip together, Salva and I promised each other that we had to do something to contribute a little to that country, and we started to research... we came across many factories, with good and bad people, with factories that exploit children and adults because let's not deceive you... there are many factories in Asia where children work... but those factories were not for us, we were looking for more, we were seeking humanity, craftsmanship, and the ability to help with what we did. Everything led us to find our place and develop a product in the hands of artisans in the country who need this work to support their families. This is where the textile branch of MONPIEL truly began.

The social impact behind our textile collection

Our mission is to provide work to artisans and help them support entire families. We want to show you that there is a lot of potential in countries like India. They know how to work, they produce quality, and that well-paid work, done with dignity, can feed an entire family. Feel proud to wear a MONPIEL garment, you are also contributing to these families.

From the most rural areas to the first world

From the spinners to the person who finishes sewing the garment, including the embroiderers... all the people who handle MONPIEL garments come from rural areas, which, as you know, are always the most disadvantaged regions of developing countries.

Humanitarian Aid

For quite some time, we have been passionate followers of the "Missionaries of Charity", for those who may not know, it is the order founded by Mother Teresa of Calcutta. On all our trips to India, we never return without visiting their house, chatting with the sisters for a while, doing some meditation, and spending the afternoon with the children who are immensely grateful. A percentage of all our "Made in India" textile garments will be allocated to support the Missionaries of Charity.

It was very difficult to find and set up workshops capable of meeting our quality standards along with a social, ethical, and sustainable commitment. Finally, after much effort, we launched our first textile collection, and now more than ever we can proudly say that behind every piece of Monpiel, there is a story, a family, and people who sustainably handcraft each product.

Without a doubt, this is MONPIEL's most cherished project. We are incredibly happy to know that you are there and that all our effort is directed towards a good cause. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your trust and support!
